    Hi –

I am trying to update a client’s site to a new template. I’m using WP Staging. Everything works as expected with the staging site EXCEPT when I try to list a category.
I’ll explain. On the current site, when I click on one of the product categories in the sidebar or footer menu, Woo lists ONLY those products. However, when I use the staging site and click on a category, Woo lists all the products.

I created a new header menu and added the categories in the menu builder section.

Just can’t figure this out! Possible plugin incompatibility? Bug?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

  • Hi @piltdownman

I understand that the live site is working fine, but the behavior you mentioned is seen only on the staging site.

If you’d share a link to the staging site then we will be able to check the problem, because we aren’t able to reproduce the issue on our end.

At this point we can only advise you to double check your settings.

    Cheers!

    Hi @piltdownman

Can you make it public? When accessing it, your staging site is asking for credentials.

I hope to hear from you soon! Thanks

    I have removed the login…

    Hello,

I understand the production site is showing the category items but the staging site (at the same category) is showing all the items.

That’s odd. You can perform a conflict test, to check if it solves the issue, the recommended steps to take in this case are:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem

This should run only with WooCommerce active, check if the issue is solved, then you can reactivate the theme, and plugins one by one until you find the cause of the problem, You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

Let us know how it goes.

The culprit was WooLentor. Perhaps I made some change in that plugin while I was styling my product pages. Otherwise, if it’s a bug, it’s worthless to me. Any ideas?

    Hi @piltdownman

Glad you were able to detect the culprit.

As WooLentor is a third party tool, you may want to get in touch with their team at https://woolentor.com/contact/.

Kindly note that this particular forum is for questions that are directly related to the features and functionality of the free WooCommerce plugin. While we’re experts on our own products, third-party plugins are best supported by their own developers.

    Cheers
