I have quite a number of products on my site – a lot of them have size and/or colour variations. Some of these variations have prices attached, and these work fine. The problem I have is when an attribute doesn’t have a variation i.e. the price doesn’t change. The attributes are not displayed on the frontend product:

    https://www.maiseymoo.co.uk/shop/dog-beds/fabric-dog-beds/ultima-dog-bed/

The above product has a size variation which alters the price, but also has a colour attribute which doesn’t affect the price; the size variation displays but the colour options aren’t display.

Similarly the below product has no variations at all, and has a size attribute that doesn’t affect the price, but this attribute is not displayed:

    https://www.maiseymoo.co.uk/shop/dog-clothing/jumpers/park-lane-pullover/

    Please help!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • First of all did you mark color to be a variatin ? Secondly you can make 3 variatons with 3 sizes and “any coulor” to choose.

    so

    Size, Color

    Small, Any color
    medium, any color
    big, any color

Colour is not marked to be a variation, just an attribute as it has not affect of the price. I do have products where I have size and colour attributes as variations because I wanted the image to change upon the selection of colour, and these do work. It’s the products where the product has attributes which are not variations that are the issue.

Simply just made them a variation and then don’t let the affect price.

    By creating those variations.

    Size, Color

    Small, Any color – 100$
    medium, any color – 200$
    big, any color – 300$

I supose price will display after someone will chose both color and size but color will not affect the value. Or your problem is you want price to display after someone chose a size? You can amde notic at shortdescription that user have to chose size and color to see price.

I’m not sure I’m explaining properly. This product:

    https://www.maiseymoo.co.uk/shop/dog-clothing/jumpers/park-lane-pullover/

Has an attribute of size – s, m, l for example. Not used in variations but boxed checked for “visible on product page”.

But it’s not visible on the product page.

I mean the option to select the size doesn’t appear when it’s an attribute on a simple product.

And if there is an attribute used for a variation on a variable product, and an attribute with no variation on the same product, the variation shows but the attribute doesn’t.

What you mean by saying attribute doesn’t show.

When i set an attribute for the size of the item required it should display a drop down box on the product page on the frontend for the customer to select the size, but it doesn’t. Select boxes only are being displayed for those attributes used as variations.

Yes and you won’t find dropdown choose menu at simple product nither. And if you want to see some atribut at dropdown menu at variation product you have to mark them as variation.

Simple product don’t even have psoibility of marking artibut as variation, you can display that atribut at page at TAB additional informations placed near descriptions and reviews, but looks like your theme dosn’t support it or you turned it off somehow

What do you want to achive at this product page:
    https://www.maiseymoo.co.uk/shop/dog-clothing/jumpers/park-lane-pullover/

I want the option of small, medium and large, but the size doesn’t affect the price.

So made variation product from it. Then mark atribute as variation and add 1 variation and set “any (atribut name)” then fill price etc and save.

    Check this, https://imgur.com/a/U2GuP

You have 2 screenshoots in there.

That’s going to be a LOT of work. Most of the affected products were imported from a CSV file, so I’ll have to go into each product individually. Is there an easier way??
