Process-download.php gets deleted as soon as I upload it

Hello,
I’m having this weird problem: as soon as I upload the file includes/process-download.php it gets deleted. I can see that from through my FTP: upload -> refresh -> no more there. What’s strange, it happens even if the plugin is unactive. It seems it only happens if I activate live payments, but I’m not sure.

I already contacted my host, and they solved the problem once. But then, a week past, and it started happening again. And I believe the only change I made was to go live. Just wanted to know if it might be a plugin problem or again the hoster fault.

Are you able to see what the file permissions on that file are?

Unfortunately, no way: as soon as the FTP upload is over, the file shows up to half a second and then vanishes. Other files have permissions 644.

Does the host have any security settings that you can control? I think your host is detecting the file as potentially malevolent, do to one of the functions the file uses.

Could you ask your host if the file is getting flagged as malicious?

That would account for it… The admin area runs cPanel, there’s not much that I can do, or at least that I see… What is the possibly indicted function, to tell the host?

The function is base64_decode() and or base64_encode().

No, that can’t be the reason. My very plugin uses those functions and it works. I filed a support request asking them if the file is somehow marked as malicious, I’ll keep you up!

They said that yes, maybe the antivirus might be to blame, and that they will try to deactivate it on Monday.

They deactivated the antivirus and it works now (or seems to at least). I really don’t know what hell of an antivirus they might be using, since virustotal reports it to be fully clean…
