Problems with WP Dark Mode

Hi,

I recently paid to have you optimise my site, which was great, but I have now had to change the dark mode plugin and the caching is causing a problem with the display of the floating switch. It looks fine when Admin is logged in, but otherwise it appears at full screen width below the footer. WP Dark Mode have added their js to the cache exclusion but it hasn’t helped. So I thought I would ask you, especially as I don’t want to fiddle with the caching settings after you have optimised them and I am happy with them.

@etellwright I see you have UCSS enabled.
Try turning it OFF, to test if the error appears from there. Do not clear UCSS(for now) but test if disabling it will fix the issue

Thanks. What is UCSS? I will certainly try this but I don’t know what it is, sorry.

Thanks. I hadn’t thought of looking at page optimisation 🙄. Disabling that option didn’t make any difference to the problem though.

@etellwright just to make sure you did it correctly: disabled Load css asynchronously then you cleared cache by clicking on Purge All. Correct?

Hi,

Yes, you’re right to check as I don’t know much about it, but that is what I did. I’ve just tried it again to make sure. I also cleared the browser cache before trying the site and tried both Safari and Chrome but no luck.

I have 2 ideeas:
– Please Purge all CSS/JS files(https://docs.litespeedtech.com/lscache/lscwp/toolbox/#purge-all-cssjs ) then Purge all
– If above not working please disable this: https://docs.litespeedtech.com/lscache/lscwp/pageopt/#css-combine-external-and-inline

Hi,

I’m sorry the first one did not work and the second option is already turned off. I also checked the Tuning to see if the JS is excluded and it is.

@etellwright please send a report to LSC and them share the ID generated.
You can send from LSC => Toolbox => Report => click on “Send to Litespeed” then share the ID generated

@etellwright did you changed dark mode plugin?

try adding: wp-dark-mode to https://docs.litespeedtech.com/lscache/lscwp/pageopt/#css-excludes
Purge CSS/JS and All
then make a test

That’s fixed it! Hooray!

Yes, I had to change from Dracula Dark Mode plugin because it was discontinued. I asked WP Dark Mode to do the LiteSpeed exclusions and they did cache and JS but obviously forgot the CSS.
