I recently took an online course that was supposedly going to teach me how to create a wordpress theme, or so I expected. But it ended up just teaching me how to change the twenty ten theme to make a website. The teacher didn´t mention that it would be wise to create a child theme, I found out about it when trying to do the final tweaks to my website. I have tried to do a child theme of twenty ten in order to keep all the changes I´ve made, but i tried to update the theme today and the content area´s width changed and the only way I found to restore it was to return to the unupdated files.
Most of my webstite was ok after the update, it was only this particular thing. Is it possible fot me to prevent this from happening? Did I make a mistake while creating my child theme?
I found the information provided on how to create a child theme a littler confusing…
Here´s the website I created: http://dinamizatuweb.es/
Where could I learn to build my own wordpress themes?
I´d be very grateful for any insights or comments.
