Support » Plugin: Calculated Fields Form » Problems with Tooltip on mobile devices

Hi, I’m almost finished with creating my CFF-Form. However, I found something unpleasant when using tooltips on a mobile phone.
The problem is, that hover function is not possible on mobile phone and so to see a tooltip you have to click the corresponding icon. But this automatically activates the input focus of the input field. For desktop PCs this may be okay because it doesn’t hurt. For mobile phones this is a problem, because activating the input focus (for number and text fields) means also activating the virtual keyboard of the mobile device.
First problem is, that the user doesn’t want to input anything and so he will be irritated. Furthermore in many cases the virtual keyboard which covers nearly the lower half of the screen will also cover the displayed tooltip.
Now, when you close the keyboard to see what is behind, the tool tip is gone. If you want to click again, this will not do anything, because the input field is already active.
To activate the tooltip again, you first have to click somewhere else and then come back to the first tooltip. Which doesn’t help, because the story starts again from the beginning…
This is the behaviour of “normal” input fields, where the virtual keyboard covers “only” half of the screen. Even worse is the situation with dropdown fields having 5-10 selections. Here the whole screen will be covered and nothing of the background can be seen.
An easy solution for all this problems would be to not activate the input focus of the input field when just clicking on the tooltip icon.
Maybe you can think about this…

    Regards, Tooni

    Hello @tooni

You simply should tick the checkbox: “Display on icon” in the field’s settings.

    Best regards.

This is what I’m talking about: Displaying the tooltip by clicking on the icon. On a mobile device there is no other choice. And the result is what I decribed above.

I’m sorry but I cannot do this. The page is still under development and not yet available for public access.
If you cannot see the decribed behaviour on any other form, let us suspend this item for a later time. I will come back, when my page and form is online.
