Problems with permissions

  • Hi.
I had some problems with uploading images to my posts and pages due to permissions to create the upload folder etc. I can now upload images however I cant edit the text on my posts and pages anymore after editing permissions.

    What I did was…
I rightclicked the wp-admin, wp-content and wp-includes folders and gave them the 755 permission, and also marked the box for “include in subfolders and files” and chose the radio button option for “for all files and folders”.
After doing this I was not able to edit my posts and pages anymore, and it didnt even solve my problem.

What I did afterwards was to create an “uploads” folder under wp-content and give this folder only the 757 permission and that solved my uploads problem. However I cant edit or write any posts and pages.

Anyone know how to get back to the intital permissions for me?

    Hi Whistler.
    Thanks for the reply.

I have now given all folders 755 permission and all files 644 permission. Didn’t solve anything, still cant edit my posts or pages and all images in the editor are now red crosses….
