Problems with new template and css

  • Hi, I just started using WordPress and I don’t have too much experience as a web developer, but I’m having some problems creating a static html page. I’ve create the web page by hand and have it working with the local css version (I can also have the local html page working by calling it’s position in the server, so it’s not that it’s not calling the css page correctly). However whenever I use the template in wordpress all it does is output the content and no styling. Here’s the code for the page

    Update: My apologies, wasn’t aware of that site.

  • First, remove that extra asterisk in the Template call:

    <?php
    /**
     *Template Name: Update Pages
     */
    ?>

    Should be:

    <?php
    /*
    Template Name: Update Pages
    */
    ?>

    You might need to reselect the template on the page edit screen. (Select default template, save. Select Update Pages, save.)

    That worked, thanks a lot!
