• Hi all,

First time posting after searching high and low for an answer.

I am a pretty basic user and have no coding experience so far, so go gentle with me!

    Here’s my problem page.
    http://thetopdawg.ca/blog/

There are over 30 blog posts on that page but try as I might, all the Recent Post links take me to the top of the page, rather than to the specific post.

I feel certain that the answer is that I am being incredibly stupid but at this stage, I am going around in circles trying to solve this and could really do with a friendly point in the right direction! 🙂

WP 3.4 (upgraded to 3.4 today to see if that resolved problem, which already existed beforehand)
I am using the Headway theme, version 2.0.13 (I know there is a later version but I am sticking with this version until Headway 3.x has outed most of its gremlins).

    Kind Regards,

    Eamonn.

  • Firstly, there is no stupid questions.

Something is overriding your single post template. Not sure what’s going on there, but it’s basically trying to pull in all the blog posts into your post when you’re viewing it.

Bit hard to tell what that is without seeing your template files. Did you or something/someone else make any changes to single.php? Or did you install a plugin recently that could be causing it?

    Thanks for the response.

We haven’t knowingly made any changes to single.php (not even sure where to find that file, if that gives a sense of our level here!)

Plugins…well that’s a possible I guess. We have 6 Active Plugins as far as we can see, only one of which relates to the blog (Recent Posts Widget Plus). We installed that today, again, to see if it solved our problem, but it didn’t, so this issue pre-existed the installation of that plugin. Other plugins are…
    Contact Me
    Max Buttons Pro
    Stat Counter
    VSF Simple Block
    WordPress Importer

    Hmm ok..

Next step would be to deactivate each one of those plugins one by one to see if that makes the problem go away.

If this doesn’t reveal the problem, then you need to take a look at your single.php file in your theme’s directory (download it via FTP usually under /wp-content/themes/[your-theme-name]/single.php).

Thanks for your help. We will follow your advice and see if we can isolate the cause of the problem and report back.
