Problems with file-upload

    Hi there,

    I’m using the theme ROBIZ from Pixelcoder, the plugin Contact Form DB from Michael Simpson and the latest version of cf7 with several forms.

    Users can upload forms with some pictures up to 8 MB each. Sometimes
    1. the procedure last very very long and
    2. it often ends with the reply: message could not be sent, try again later.
    But: the upload is allready done – the message and although the attached files are sent and in the database.
    What can I do, to fasten up the procedure and to avoid this obviously wrong reply-message?

    Some questions to consider:

    1. Do forms with text only (no attachments) send fine?
    2. Are the image file extensions allowed in the mail tag?
    3. How about the upload speed and final message when you upload a 4MB or 2MB image?
    4. If you switch to the default WordPress theme is there any improvement in upload speed and success message?
    5. With all plugins deactivated except CF7 is there any improvement in upload speed and success message?

    Yes

    Yes

    It works fine if I only upload 1 or 2 files, if I try more, it didn’t work

    No

    No

    After doing some different tests: the problem appears, if I upload more than 4 big files – however, this is necessary, I can not solve it otherwise …

    In that case I would speak to your host to see if there is anything that can be done to improve the upload performance. If they can’t/won’t help, then I would consider moving hosts. Contact Form 7 seems to be working fine. It might also be worth posting a support request in the Contact Form DB plugin forum, and linking to this thread.
