Hi @tdesign11
Thanks for using the Super Web Share plugin. I understand that the share button on some pages is not showing as the share settings within the metabox of some posts turned to Off.
First, kindly note that by default, the share button on each post/page metabox is turned ON, and there’s no relation with the option on the Super Web Share > Floating/Inline settings page. This means even if you turn on or turn it off within the main settings page it won’t change the toggle within the post or page metabox.
To make this clear, our plugin checks whether the Floating is enabled or not within the Super Web Share > Floating settings page. If it’s turned ON, our plugin checks whether the content type is selected or not. If it’s selected, then we do check whether the floating within the Super Web Share metabox (within each post/page edit page) is turned ON or not. If it is also set as turned ON, we do output the floating button on the specific page/post.
As we set the metabox values to turn ON within the pages, we didn’t have an option to bulk edit it, as a user needs to turn it OFF manually via each post.
So, could you please let us know whether someone turned OFF the floating button on your website? Or could you please let us know the steps you have performed to replicate this at our end?
Looking forward to hearing from you more on this.
Hi, thanks for your quick reply.
The things that were bulk edited were: categories and featured images.
I can assure you we did not toggle the share button off for thousands of posts individual.
How can I simply turn on that toggle for every post I have?
I understand, and that works when I go to create a new post the toggle is turned on. Which is fine.
Thanks
Thanks again for sharing the information.
I tried to replicate this at our end by bulk editing by changing the category via the default WP options, but I was not able to replicate the issue you have noticed at my end.
I think the plugin which you have used to bulk edit the image or category caused some issues with our plugin and saved null data to the field _superwebshare_post_floating_active within each post. For each post, our plugin checks whether the value _superwebshare_post_floating_active is enable (if its available) or not. If the value is enable we do show the toggle as ON.
We didn’t have any way to bulk edit the metabox settings to turn ON or OFF, as the settings are very minimal, as I mentioned above.
So please do share the step-by-step information to replicate this at our end and the plugin you have used for bulk edit.
Hello again,
The only plug-in that we have used was the quick featured image
Here is the link to the plug-in that was used: https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/quick-featured-images/
Hi again @tdesign11 ,
Thanks for sharing the plugin link. I used the plugin you mentioned above, but I was not able to replicate the issue which you pointed out after using it for about 1-2 hours with various options on it. So could you please drop a mail to support [at] superwebshare.com to help us to get more information on how to replicate this further and to find out the solution for all the posts to turn to enable?
Looking forward.
