    Hi,
I installed Mailpoet on a clientside and tested it. During the tests, we found out, that the confirmation-mails sometimes are not received by the new subscriber. (I mean that mail that asks you if I you really want to receive that newsletter and if so, that you should confirm it by clicking on a given link.) So I did a test with two different mail accounts of mine:
    1) A mailaccount hosted at “Hetzner” (a German high-end provider)
    2) A mailaccount hosted by Domainfactory (Domainfactory is more or less a mass-hoster.)

In case 1) I received the confirmation message within seconds. In case 2 I received nothing but my client received a mail that said:

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software. A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

    mail@———–.com
    host mxlb.ispgateway.de [80.67.18.126]
SMTP error from remote mail server after end of data:
550 MFE: Message detected as spam
    Reporting-MTA: dns; smtprelay08.ispgateway.de

    Action: failed
    Final-Recipient: rfc822;mail@———–.com
    Status: 5.0.0
    Remote-MTA: dns; mxlb.ispgateway.de
Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 550 MFE: Message detected as spam
    Return-path: <kontakt@————–.de>
    Received: from [134.119.45.90] (helo=www.————-.de)

Therefore I think that different hosters use different spamfilters, some do not accept that confirmation mail. Is that right?

If so. What can I do? Or is there another reason why that happened?

    Thank you!
    Raphael

    Hi Raphael,

Yes, it’s probably related to the email address you’re using as the From for the confirmation email. It really depends on the spam filters used for different servers.

We recommend your FROM email address should always be an email address from your own domain, like info@yourdomain.com.

    Thanks!

Hi, thank you for the information. The main problem is: 99% of all users have a free mail address. Is there anything I can do to have a higher acceptance rate? Would it e. g. be different if I used the paid version of mailpoet or does it ONLY depend on the hoster of the mail server?
    Thanks
    Raphael
