I’m brand new to wordpress. I’ve been trying to upload a theme (“benevolence”) – first the css wouldn’t upload (now it seems to have) and then the images half-upload or reject entirely. I’ve switched from WSFTP to SmartFTP, I have room for the images, and everything else seems to be working okay – see

    http://www.phoenixfire.net/blog

it still won’t work. any suggestions? from the looks of things other people have been having this problem.
otherwise, is there any way to make the CSS file writable?

    Thanks,
    Nicki

What sort of errors are you getting when you try to upload files? This would be more of a host related issue than WP anyway.

As long as you are logging in using your proper credentials, you should have access to any and all files. You can even modify the permissions if you so desire from within the FTP client.

I don’t get any messages – the FTP uploading thing just says, file uploaded, then freezes and upon refreshing has only uploaded half the image/document (it’s both, now).

I’m logging in as “admin”. And my host is 34SP, which apparently other people use with wordpress with no problems.

    Thanks!
