• I have a blog hosted on blog.com and am very new to blogging and WordPress.

I set the blog up in the UK and have since moved to Australia. When I arrived in Oz I went to update the blog but all the images on the blog would not load (only showed a small ? in a box). I can not also load any new images and get error messages, as well as the following:

Directory wp-content/blogs.dir/00/08/07/70/8077038/files/ didn’t exist. Please create first the main gallery folder!

I know this is common and having Googles for the last few hours know it is something to do with File Permissions. I can not work out how to change them though! I do not know how to use an FTP to edit them, nor can I work out how to access settings for doing this in my blog.com host.

Please can someone help me resolve this annoying problem?!

    Thanks.

  • Do you own blog.com? I tried opening the site to see what it is, but I’m getting an Nginx “504 Gateway Time-out” error.

I’m thinking this is a blog hosting service using WordPress multisite, similar to WordPress.com. If this is the case, then no, you can’t change permissions and such. Best you can do is contact their support for help. And with the gateway time out error I’m getting now, there may be more happening over there at blog.com than mere permission issues.
