# Problems uploading image

 * Hi all
 * I have been trying everything to solve this problem. When I try to upload images
   I get this error
    — File is empty. Please upload something more substantial. 
   This error could also be caused by uploads being disabled in your php.ini. — 
   I tried to upload a .htaccess file didnt work
 * My settings in miscellaneous I put in uploads (normally this generates a folder
   in the content folder but it doesnt. So I tried to do it manually and it still
   doesnt work)
 * I change permissions to 777.
 * I have no clue what to do now, any suggestions?

 * If uploading is disabled in php.ini, as the error suggests, there is likely nothing
   you can do but contact your host.
 * How did you try to upload the .htaccess? Ftp?

 * If you can’t create folders manually– I assume you mean via FTP or web-host backend–
   then you are dealing with a server configuration problem that is going to require
   help from your host’s support team.

 * It seems that there is some configuration problem on the server. Only your host
   can help you further to resolve this.

 * Sorry for not being clear in my communication. When I say I tried to do it manually
   I am talking about the “uploads” folder. Normally the folder is made by wordpress
   but since it didnt show up I created one myself. So yes I am able to make folder
   via the ftp but I still get the error.

 * thank you for your help, the host solved the problem in 5 seconds.
