Problems uninstalling Better WP Security

    Hello! I installed Better WP Security on several sites after reading many positive reviews, but somehow it is not working for me. I am having trouble with headers disappearing, and now I am unable to upload new versions of my theme. I also found myself locked out of one site temporarily with an “error” message. I don’t think I have the expertise to use this plugin.

    I tried to uninstall Better WP Security following the steps I read here:

    I unclicked all the tweaks. I also went into my cPanel in Bluehost and deleted the .htaccess code referring to BWPS.

    Then I went into the backup files on my cPanel and restored my sites to a day before I installed BWPS, but when I log back in, I find that the plugin is still there (?) and my problems persist.

    I do not know anything about programming, so perhaps I am missing something glaringly obvious. I would be extremely grateful for advice. Thanks so much in advance!
