Support » Plugin: Contact Form 7 » Problems to add class to field

  • First of all thank you for this fantastic plugin !

My problem is the next one. Despite of I’ve added css class to field in the way you indicates.
    [text prueba id:text class:test class:uppercase]

Never recognizes this class and all classes are replaced by “form-control”
This is the code that developer tools shows :
    <span class="wpcf7-form-control-wrap prueba"><input type="text" name="prueba" value="" size="40" class="form-control" id="text" aria-invalid="false"></span>

could someone give me a solution or explain the reason why this is happen?

    Thank you!

  • Hi again!

It is a bootstrap problem? because I tested in a new theme (without bootstrap) and the classes work properly.

The question is if is possible fix this problem in my bootstrap theme?

See Styling Contact Form for a general explanation of styling CF7 forms using CSS.

There is a link at the bottom of the page to a comprehensive and detailed article on Styling Contact Form 7 Forms. The article shows people, with suitable HTML & CSS skills, how to change the appearance of their Contact Form 7 Forms to meet their particular requirements.

Thank you davmerit for your answer.
I’ve read that article before and I know how styling CF7 form using CSS.
But my question is different. The problem is why bootstrap (I think is a bootstrap problem) replace the class or classes I put in the CF7 shortcode by “form-control” class.
