Support » Fixing WordPress » Problems posting and creating pages

  • I’ve been using WordPress for quite a while, but tonight it’s decided to be quirky.

I created a new page, and while I can edit it, I can’t view it. I get a url/pagename not found on this server error. In searching the forums, it appears to be an .htaccess issue, and I was going to update permalinks and manually input the code. It didn’t, however, give me new code. I couldn’t seem to nail down a definitive fix.

So then I tried to post a regular blog entry. It told me access to wp-admin/post.php was forbidden. So I tried to a test post, and it let me post that. It still won’t let me post my original post.

I haven’t made any changes to anything at all recently, so I’m at a loss. Any help or a push in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

  • For Pages – see this:

For the post giving a “forbidden”: it might contain one of those words (like curl) that get blocked.

Thanks for the link, Moshu. I did search and read for about two hours before I asked, but the fixes don’t seem to apply/be working. I’ll figure it out eventually. I’ll also hunt up a list of the words that get blocked, although it seems strange I’d encounter two unrelated problems at the same time after months of smooth sailing.

    Back to reading again. 🙂
