I have just signed up to wordpress via hostgator and did the quickinstall which is says is completed. I understand I have to login via admin url which I understand is my web address with/wp-admin at the end when I go into this a blank page comes up. The domain I purchased some months ago through go daddy. Being new to web design its probably something simple so would appreciate if anyone can help me. As its frustrating as I cant do anything.

  • Can you give a link to the domain?

I can see an IIS 7 (windows) server and an ASP.NET framework, but no indication of PHP running on the server. Every request I make to any file path I would normally expect to see any WordPress files at, returns a server response of “200 – status OK”, yet renders a blank page. I can’t access anything I would normally expect to find in a WordPress installation even if PHP wasn’t running. Not even the “readme.html” file.

I’m not sure how Hostgator comes into play, but I think I’m seeing your site actually being hosted by Godaddy. You might need to contact Godaddy support for assistance, and verify that:

    A) your server will support the minimum requirements for WordPress

    B) your configuration will currently serve .html and .php files

Just checked with Godaddy who said they are not hosting I just purchased domain name. They suggest the problem is with wordpress and not hostgator my host or them. I there a number in Australia I can ring to speak to someone?
