• When I try and Edit a photo that I’ve uploaded to my site (i.e. scale, rotate etc), an error message comes up, which reads:

Image data does not exist. Please re-upload the image.

This means I can’t edit any of my photos and I have never had this problem before. I contacted my host and they tried increasing my memory, looked for bugs etc and couldn’t find the problem, even though they could replicate it. It seems to only happen with larger files (my photos are around 3 MB) and when I upload my photos I can’t seem to do more than one at a time anymore and it never says ‘crunching’ anymore (I don’t know if these things are relevant)…

    Any ideas? Please help!

  • I have the same problem. had it for 2 weeks now with no solution

@mysecondbreakfast – why are you uploading such large images – it’s really best to resize them before uploading.

Aside from that have you tried deactivating all plugins and switching to the default theme to see if any are causing these problems?

I was scaling them in WordPress– is there a simple way to do this before I upload them (sorry if that is a stupid question…)?

Yes, all my plugins were deactivated and it didn’t fix the problem!

Use an imaging program to resize them on your local computer.
