 * Dear People,
 * I get the following message when I try to automatically update wordpress or plugins:
 * Warning: socket_last_error() expects parameter 1 to be resource, null given in/
   srv/disk2/uubkiller/www/davidbrussee.awardspace.info/wp-admin/includes/class-
   ftp-sockets.php on line 59
 * Not a clou what causes this; wordpress is installed properly (all files are there).
 * Do you guys have any idea how to solve this?
 * Thanks!

 * Try re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a **fresh** download
   of WordPress 3.0.1

 * Didn’t work! Reinstalled the whole wordpress, but still the same message! Everything
   works oke, only not the updating and the plugin page :S Not a idea what this
   is caused by, my host maybe?

 * Have you tried:
 * – deactivating **all** plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works,
   re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
 * – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause
   problems.

 * You are my HERO! Plugins work again, so that problem is solved. The only current
   problem is the function of automatically update does not work. Although the settings
   are the correct FTP settings! But updating is something I also can do manually
   if necessary! Many thanks Esmi!! 😉
