• 1) The company website is built using the free WordPress service. Which means they only map their purchased domain to wordpress.com.
    2) Since it’s the free WP with limited functionalities, it wouldn’t be possible for us to install any plugins on our end.
    3) The hosting service mentioned this:

Our transfer service would only be able to transfer the files if you have cPanel or SSH access to the server. It looks like WordPress is suggesting using a different method to manually compress and copy the files. You would have to contact them for more information on that process.

Question: How do I move forward with this migration?

Hi @ashiquzzaman, much thanks for the reply.

That’s the most obvious option and is something I’m aware of. Was just wondering if it’s possible to migrate the entire thing as-is, with the theme unchanged and all.

Siteground provides such service, free WP or not. I suppose other hostings who aren’t partners with WP.org wouldn’t have such abilities.

    Thanks again.

That depends if the theme in use on .com is available for .org. Many are, but not all. And you will need to find equivalent plugins and widgets. It’s a process that can take custom work and can’t be completely automated.
