Hi folks, What do you do when you can’t find wp-content/themes/? I created the sub-dir /themes in wp. I am using my own domain & host and all the other wp files are there, except wp-content/themes/!

  • By default, that is a directory that comes in installation package. I would download WordPress again and then upload it. Without a theme, wordpress cannot work! You cannot create it and have it work, it has to be the one that comes in the install and then you can also add themes if you want from downloading them at http://themes.wordpress.net

Well, it doesn’t have to be “one that comes in the download”. If everything else is there, all you need to do is create a /wp-content/themes/ folder. You can put the default theme in it, and/or the classic theme, but those aren’t strictly necessary either.

Of course, the above statement applies ONLY to the 1.5+ and 2.0+ branches, NOT to the 2.1 branch in any way shape or form….
