Problem with Woocommerce subscriptions
-
Hi all
I have WooCommerce installed on my site.
When we went to import subscribers, some were close to their expiry dates, so we added a few days so that subscriptions would not expire while we did the migration.
The problem is this meant some subscriptions went for a bit more than a year, and were being imported into a system that managed subscriptions for a year. When those newly imported subscriptions were renewed, the expiry dates did not change meaning that the new subscriptions only lasted a few days.
For example, a ‘start’ date of 5/5/20 meant an end date of 5/5/21 – but we updated that to (say) 11/5/21 – and payment received today (10/5) meant that the subscriber gets only one day when we had hoped the new end date would be 11/5/22.
The others are working fine – just not those that we manually updated.
My guess is that the system calculates a year from the ‘start’ date which means it’ll only work properly if it can calculate the year – and do nothing if some other date has been entered.
We are now manually amending those dates (adding a year) as they are renewed – but is this the best fix? My concern is that if I’ve updated a subscription manually once, the system may not realise what I’m doing.
Any help would be appreciated.

Neil
