Hi @marsronny,
If the banner is not showing, possibly the plugin detects a configuration that doesn’t require a banner.
Can you try to go to the wizard, enable at least one marketing service (like YouTube for example), en save the settings?
@marsronny to find out what is causing the banner not to show, can you create an export of your settings, under tools/data. Then email the resulting json to support(at)complianz.io?
Then I can test those settings, and debug the issue.
I’ve having the same problem.

@joantu234 please export your settings as described above, and email them to support(at)complianz.io so we can check your settings.
Please also check the possible solutions mentioned above.
Hi @rogierlankhorst. Yes, I will email a copy of my json settings file to your support email. The banner shows correctly whilst within the Consent Banner section of the plugin settings, just not anywhere else. And I have selected both YouTube and Google Analytics as services.
@joantu234 great, I will test with your settings and get back to you.
Just to confirm, version 6.5.6 works correctly with the settings I sent you.
Working now! I reinstalled 6.5.6, checked everything was working properly (which it was) and then updated to 7.0.2 again. Lo and behold, the banner is now working correctly. I can only think it was a cacheing issue, of some kind.
@joantu234 glad to hear!
@marsronny maybe you can also send me the settings export under tools/data, and the system status under tools/support
please mail it to support(at)complianz.io, then I can test with those settings.
@marsronny based on the settings you sent over, I’ve concluded that if those settings are correct, the plugin as correct in not showing a banner, as there is nothing active that requires consent.
If these settings are not correct, it might be an upgrade issue. In that case, please let me know and I’ll look into it. Assuming that those settings are correct, I’ll mark this thread as resolved, as it is expected behaviour.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Hello Rogier,
Unfortunately the issue still persists. I didn’t change the configuration and I didn’t add any plugins or third party services. I just updated the plugin Complianz. Before the update it showed the Cookie Banner and after the update it doesn’t show the banner. The issue isn’t resolved.
Hi @marsronny,
As the banner is still not displayed, it seems that the plugin detects a configuration that doesn’t require a banner.
Could you navigate to the Complianz -> Wizard -> Consent -> Services section and set the question “Does your website use third-party services?” to Yes, and check if this results in the banner appearing again?
Kind regards, Jarno
Just one thing: after update to the newest version of compilanz 7.0.4, the compilanz-banner isn’t showing on frontend – backend displays the banner. Then i look at my browser preferences (firefox), visit the tab “data protection & security”, i’ve activated “strong”. This results in NOT displaying the compilanz-banner on frontend. If the “option: default” is activated, the compilanz-banner will show. Problem: users are unable to see the compilanz-banner at all.
Hi @hellmute,
This does not seem to be related to the 7.x update specifically, but you most-likely have the option “Respect Do Not Track settings in browsers” enabled in the plugin, found under Wizard > General > Security & Consent.
Meaning that if the plugin detects a Do Not Track signal from the browser (which browsers such as Firefox have enabled by default), the plugin will automatically assume all your cookie preferences to be “denied”, and doesn’t display a banner as a result.
Disabling that option in Complianz, or disabling the “Send a Do Not Track” option in your browser, will resolve this behavior and cause the banner to appear.
Kind regards, Jarno
