    Hi Yoast Team,

    I have a problem after the last update of the Yoast plugin. I have a problem when I try to respond to a comment left by a reader of my blog. I checked on test site (dev.dpblog.pl, the right page for comparison is dpblog.pl) and in Yoast version 10.0 everything is fine, but after updating to version 10.1.3 there is a problem with the response to comments left by another user.

    Ps. I checked other plugins and the problem only appears after in the last update of the Yoast plugin.

    Nobody reacts to my forum post, so I’ll write a temporary solution I found on the internet. Download this plug-in: “Get replytocom Back” – Fix the problems with the answer caused by the Yoast SEO plugin (v7.0.2 +), which automatically disables the replica.

    Hi @dpblog,

    We’ve indeed changed the behavior regarding the replytocom variable in version 7 of Yoast SEO because of its significant implications for SEO.

    From our release post:
    “We’ve removed the option to turn off the replytocom variable. The replytocom feature in WordPress lets you reply to comments without activating JavaScript in your browser. However, every comment gets is own link and these could all end up in the search engines. So we now remove these variables by default.”

    We’ve heard before that some themes rely heavily on the replytocom feature to handle comments. We feel very strongly that this is not the best practice as it will hurt your SEO.

    @tacoverdo,

    thank you for the answer. I understand correctly that a plugin that allows you to reply to comments can work poorly on SEO sites? Is it best to make each comment separately from the option of direct response to it?
