When I click any heading [TOC links] for the 1st time, it is showing wrong position [Stops in the Wrong Position], but when I click the heading for the second time it stops at the right position. Can you help me with the problem?

P.S.: Problem occurred all over the site.

The issue is that the page contains lazy loaded images without height and width attributes assigned. This causes the page to change heights as the images are loaded when the page scrolls.

You’ll have to either disable lazy load images or contact the plugin support team which adds that and request that the img tag height and width attributes are set so the page height does not change as images are lazy loaded. This is considered a best practice.

    I do hope this helps!

Thanks for your response Steven, it is appreciated. But are you sure about the problem is with images? actually our ads are also lazyloaded. I already send a ticket to Wp-rocket support. But I wonder, if I need to notify our ad agency which is optAD360.

Thanks again, for making this awesome plugin!

Since I block all ads using multiple layers of protection ranging from network level to browser level (except for sites I frequent and trust), I did not see ads so they would not have affected the display for me when I took a look at your site

Lazy loaded ads would also cause a similar behavior. If the page height changes as the page is scrolled, that will affect scrolling to the heading.

As far as ezTOC is concerned, you can try turning off the smooth scroll feature in the settings. That may help.

I actually did this, but still, I am getting this. 🙁 So is there any options to stop the scroll function, just when visitors tap on the link, just see that heading without scrolling?

Again thanks much for the reply. 🙂

RE: is there any options to stop the scroll function, just when visitors tap on the link, just see that heading without scrolling?

Sorry, no, that is a basic browser function. The smooth scroll only “enhances” the browser default behavior. As mentioned, if the content changes height as the the scroll is happening it is not possible to (in any way that I know about that is reliable and consistent) to account for the change in height. This basically has to be done on the image and ad side, not something ezTOC can do the other way around.

Thanks much Steven 🙂 cheers, have a great rest of your day!

I am having a problem with smooth scrolling. The TOC link is scrolling past the heading. I have tried changing the smooth scrolling amount (from 30 to 100) but no change. Any ideas? Here’s the page:

The scroll to page ID plugin is conflicting with the smooth scroll in ezTOC. These are incompatible. I’m sorry, you’ll have to either ezTOC or the scroll to page ID plugin.

    I hope this helps!

It does! Thank you very much.
