I just installed this, wiping out the existing community’s groups in the process. I was able to recreate them and bp seemed to remember their associated graphics. Tests went fine so I went to the newer subsite’s installation to begin tests there. Unfortunately, I can’t create post updates. I keep getting an error that says:
There was a problem posting your update. Please try again. I only see this in the nouveau theme for buddypress.

I deactivated all the subsite specific plugins for that subsite, tested again, and still got the same error. I switched to the twenty seventeen theme and still get the same error.

I am able to create groups, create an event, but get a page not found trying to edit the profile. I turned off the option to sync profiles with wordpress, but that didn’t fix that problem. I can edit the profile for the superuser on the prior community just fine, but not the new one.

I did create the bp-custom.php file and put it into the plugins folder.

The super user can post just fine on the first community, just not the new one on the other subsite. I’m going to re-enable the subsite’s plugins now as that didn’t cause any change.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Is this on the subsite? If so have you activated the various buddypress modules you want on the subsite (like you would on a normal setup?).

Also have you deactivated all other plugins except this one and buddypress (not just the locally activated ones, the network activated ones too)?

Also you are using buddypress right, not buddboss?

    1) This is on a subsite and I activated all buddypress plugins necessary for what I am wanting to do on this subsite.

    2) This is being added to a multisite where there are 4 other long-time live, active sites. I can’t have those going down to troubleshoot this. I only deactivated the plugins that were not globally-activated. NO buddypress plugins were globally-activated, nor the majority of the plugins I want it interfacing with.

    3) This is buddypress, not buddyboss. I have one buddyboss-related plugin and that is global search.

I just created a new user and it too can’t post in the activity feed.

    1. Noted the plugin should work whether network or locally activated

    2. Any of those active plugins could be the problem, that is why I ask everyone to deactivate ALL other plugins first before seeking support.

    3. Okay noted at least that is not the issue.

As I asked can you go to settings-> buddypress in your subsite. If you can access this options page then the plugin is working. If so trying saving the settings again for the modules you need. This should ensure the database tables on the subsite are generated.

If this works great. If not please revert, but bear in mind having other plugins active complicates things dramatically.

I had tried the save step, and also tried going to settings>permalinks and hitting save there, because many plugin issues I’ve faced ended up with that as the fix. Still couldn’t post. I deactivated your plugin and suddenly I could post again.

Because of the other prior existing sites on my multi-site setup, I guess I’ll have to figure out how to sort of keep different communities separate while still seeing each other’s member details, groups, and wall activity. Gotta brainstorm how that overlap will work as it can go one direction without causing a problem, but not so much the other way.

I am resolving this for good order. The rules of this forum preclude more detailed investigation of what is going wrong apologies I could not solve your issue.
