Problem with slider

    I noticed that since update 1.8.x I have a problem with a slider on my front page. I am using Pinboard theme and I have an option of displaying a slider made from my sticky posts. Having a 1.8.x version of Polylang plugin activated, this slider is not displayed anymore and instead of it, it shows the name of the language. If I deactivate it, the slider shows up. Right now, I activated an older version, 1.7.12, which seems it doesn’t create this problem. But why does the newer versions create a conflict with my slider?
