# Problem with >>recent posts widget

 * Hi, I am trying to display posts in the “>>recent posts widget” using “query 
   by category”. This should display posts only related to the category. However
   it is displaying all posts from all categories. I have the oceanwp extra plugin
   installed. However the recent posts appearing at the bottom of the posts seems
   to be working fine. There seems to be an issue with the widget only.

 * Unfortunately, it is not a dynamic widget, therefore, recent post widget displaying
   posts from all category.

 * There are two “recent posts” widgets. One is the default WordPress widget and
   the other is the OceanWP widget. The Ocean widget has options to query by category.
   If the option is there to query by category or tags then it means its a dynamic
   widget. There is another option to query by keywords and I have already tested
   that option and it works. It shows only posts which have the keywords. For the
   category I think there could be a bug in the widget.

 * I see two updates happened recently to the ocean wp plugin, but this fix is still
   not resolved 🙁
