Problem with Paypal Checkout Gateway

Hello, i hope you are well.

I have a problem with the combination of your plugin and Paypal Checkout Gateway: When i change the country at the checkout page, sometime the currency changes as well (eg from USD to EUR). Then, i cannot use Paypal Checkout at all.

I see this error at the console:

Error: Expected currency from order api call to be USD, got EUR. Please ensure you are passing currency=EUR to the sdk url

Is there a known conflict with the new version of Paypal Checkout Gateway plugin (vesrion 2.0.1)?
P.S. Everything works well with older versions.

Hi,

It seems that the PayPal plugin must add the current currency to JavaScript SDK URL:

Hi,
In the mean time, try to solve it with the following snippet:

add_filter( 'woocommerce_paypal_express_checkout_use_legacy_checkout_js', '__return_true');

This enables the legacy SDK.

Hi Nikos,
After tested the payment gateway, I found the issue.

I added a fix to version 2.0.8 that should solve the problem. Could you update to version 2.0.8 and test it?

Hello Oscar

I just updated and the paypal gateway works as expected!
However, when i change “country” at the checkout, some javascript errors appear in the console. Do you want me to send you a test URL to take a look?

Hi, the PayPal SDK does not provide a friendly way to change the currency dynamically (without refresh the page):
https://github.com/paypal/paypal-checkout-components/issues/1180

To solve it, I used the only possible solution. 😛 I tested it on Chrome and Firefox without errors.

I’ve done a test with Firefox, and I don’t see any error on the console. What browser are you using? Did you clear the browser cache?

Hm, you are right, there are no errors when using Firefox.
I tested with Safari and Chrome and there are some javascript errors when changing the country (Please change from a country with euro currency eg. Italy, to a country with dollar currency).
