    Hi guys,

I’m running the external links normally, together with an icon to show users that what they’re going to click on is indeed something that will take them out of my website.

I’ve also DISabled the icons in the ‘Exceptions’ tab for any social media links, which just look a mess with icons in-between them.

In the ‘Exclude external links by URL’ section therefore, are all of the social media icons, reading for example:

    https://www.instagram.com/
    http://reddit.com/submit?
    https://gab.com/compose?

…and the links involved do not show an icon.

One of them though DOES show an icon, which is the replacement that I’m using for ‘Feedburner’ which stopped working a few weeks ago.

The link for my new RSS feed is:

    https://feedly.com/i/subscription/feedhttpfeeds.feedburner.commywebsiteURL

…which looks a little lengthier than the other URL’s.

How would I go about removing the icon for my new RSS feed?

    Hi,

URL length doesn’t matter, maybe there’s a space character before/after the URL that is not getting excluded.
WPEL actually checks if the excluded URL you enter is contained inside the URL on the page, so you could also try just entering feedly.com or some part of it int he Exclude box.

    Hi @talextech

I’ll try that, though I cannot see it redirecting to my own RSS feed without a URL to my website being included.

No, it won’t redirect to my RSS feed without my RSS URL being present PLUS a load of encoding text.

So that now makes my RSS URL:

    https://feedly.com/i/subscription/feed%2Fhttp%3A%2F%2Ffeeds.feedburner.com%2FMyWebsite

    Hi,

Sorry if you misunderstood me… I meant you should try entering just feedly.com in WP External Links -> Exceptions -> Exclude external links by URL: box, leave the links as it is on your page 🙂

Super, @talextech – that seems to have sorted it!

    Thanks for helping!
