# Problem with Meta widget

 * This problem appeared when I updated to WP 2.8. By now I have updated to 2.8.2
   but the problem persists.
 * What happened is that the meta widget vanished from my sidebar. In the admin 
   section it also vanished from the list of widgets in use. I can add it again,
   but after saving it and then reloading the widget admin page it is removed from
   the sidebar again.
 * The theme I am using is called tpbb from this website with some minor cosmetic
   changes (colors etc.). I dont think it has anything to do with the theme as it
   was working fine before.
 * I tried to find out where WP stores the information which widgets are in use,
   but I didnt find anything in the SQL database. I assume it is store in some config
   file?
 * Anyway, any help with getting this back to work is appreciated.

 * Check with these options:
 * -> Disable all plugins and have a check..enable plugin one by one to find out
   the culprit..
 * -> Change theme to default and have a check..

 * Thanks for the advise!
 * It turned out that the problem was caused by another widget which was actually
   2 “slots” above the meta widget in the 2nd sidebar. Removing this widget makes
   the meta widget appear again. In turn, this widget prevents whatever other widget
   I put into this slot, 2 below it, to work…weird.
 * The problematic widget is from a gallery plugin, randomly displaying photos. 
   I’ll see if other people have problems with this plugin.
 * For now at least the solution is no photos, but access to registration and login
   🙂
