    OK, here’s my problem…

First I created a page here:
    http://achillemizzi.wordpress.com/

I got so hooked on WordPress that I decided to install it on my own domain here to continue developing further: http://achillemizzi.com/wp/

The content is identical. I just backed up everything from the first site and uploaded it to the second. The problem is that with the second install, the Maltese characters are coming out as ??

What’s up with that? It’s been doing my head in for a week. Please help!!

    Here’s what I’ve tried so far…
    1. I looked here first http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress_in_Your_Language and followed the instructions but no luck. Since the first install works with an English standard charset, why doesn’t it work on the second install? There isn’t an .mo file for Maltese, but then the British one should work fine (it does on the wordpress.com site). But I cannot “install” a British .mo file.

    then…
    2. I looked at wp-config.php and removed the utf8 from here:
define(‘DB_CHARSET’, ‘utf8’); I read somewhere that could help, but it didn’t. The UTF-8 standard should work fine for Maltese characters anyway.

The Language on this site is Maltese (MALTA – MT). I’m sure there’s a way, and I think it’s not such a big deal to fix this, but please I need help!!

    Thanks in advance…
