 * First it was the problem with the vanished child links and the stray raquo… I
fixed that OK, and got the links to look all right. But then I tried to validate
it and got a bunch of errors saying that the li tags were not allowed to be where
they were (incorrect nesting). I have NO idea how to fix this. I tried removing
the li tags, but the validation errors persisted, so I figured the PHP includes
folder was hiding some li tags. I tried to edit them out, but of course I got
   a PHP error.
 * Can anyone help? My sidebar code is located at [http://www.a-splode.net/wp-content/themes/default/sidebar.php](http://www.a-splode.net/wp-content/themes/default/sidebar.php)
and the validation results for one of my pages are here:
    [http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fa-splode.net%2F%3Fpage_id%3D8](http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fa-splode.net%2F%3Fpage_id%3D8)

 * I ran into the same problem while working on mine. I ended up having to tweak
the html, css and sometimes even the plugin to get different plugins and lists
   to work.
 * In the end, I found if I used `<ul>` before and `</ul>` after the `<li></li>`
I could get it to work and validate.

 * Thank you! I fixed the problem by replacing the sidebar.php file existing on
my server with the sidebar.php offered in the WordPress download. Now all that’s
left to do is kill off the child links again.
