# Problem with installing WordPress

 * I have a problem with installing WordPress 2.3 on the site of our school newspaper,
   I hope someone can help me solve it.
    I’ve downloaded the latest WordPress, configured
   _wp-config.php_ with the right database values, and uploaded it to a folder on
   my site. However, when I try to install it by visiting the _wp-admin/install.
   php_ file, all I get is a blank page. But when I enter a false name for the database
   in the configuration file, I do get a WordPress-page telling me the database 
   isn’t right.
 * So in brief: When I visit _install.php_ with the right database, I get a blank
   page. And when I do it with a false database, I do get a WordPress-page.
 * A friend told me he thinks the problem is not our database, but in the WordPress-
   files. Is he right?
    I hope one of you can help me.

 * You might try uploading a new set of WordPress files. Sometimes FTP can be flakey.
