    Hi

I upgraded to V3.7 yesterday and I have discovered that in the WordPress editor any images that use the WordPress caption facility take up the whole of the page width and more.

They display fine on my site, but it makes editing difficult.

When I remove the caption everything is OK as it was with previous WordPress version.

This applies to images in the WordPress media gallery and the Nextgen gallery.

    Help please!

    Stpehn

I think it is neat to call WP coders scientists!

That’s not really necessary. Just bow and mutter “Yes m’lord” when you are speaking with a WordPress coder. They like that.

(Yes I am totally kidding and typed that with tongue firmly planted in my cheek. πŸ˜€ )

I’m having this issue as well.

I’m noticing that the image only disappears from the editor (ie. adds 10000px to dl) if image uses alignright AND caption. Alignleft with caption, alignright without caption, align none with or without caption all display properly (for me).

@adam Capriola and @wpyogi’s examples were alignright too.

    Using Chrome 30 (Win).

We’re having the same problems on our site. Yesterday – installed the new WP 3.7 and it screws up the visual editor. The public view of the site is fine. BUT – there is a gray box that stretches way beyond the borders of the editing box, and does not show the pictures entered. Tried disabling all plugins and that did not solve the problem.

Any word on when a fix will be available? Or should we try and go back to an old back-up, where hopefully we can find Version 3.6?

    Quite frustrated…

Andrew gave the word out above.

Did you try the workaround posted by Andrew as well?

The bug has been fixed – just waiting for WP3.7.1 to be dropped –

Tonight’s 3.7 nightly build is marked WordPress 3.7.1…

Will this come through via the update built into WP or do we have to manually do it please ?

Yes, it will be part of the next update – which should be soon (we hope) so it will be fixed automatically.

Cool beans. I had updated one site to 3.7 before seeing 3.7.1 is coming and deciding to wait on the others, but now I should get to see the automatic update at work!

Yeah, I’m kinda looking forward to that too :)! (I know, I coulda/shoulda been on beta…)

    Ummm… still waiting…

Yeah, we all are, what’s your point?

    Has anyone heard any updates?

Another me too post. It only affects posts with captions and only in the editor.

Noticed it on my own site on Friday, narrowed it down to posts with captions then tried it on another site before and after upgrading to 3.7. And the bug appears with the 3.7 upgrade.

FYI, since this IS resolved and in 3.7.1 I’m going to mark this post resolved.

I know that you’re busted in 3.7, but since the fix is update to 3.7.1 (which will probably be released tomorrow), it’s where we’re going.
