• We are developing a new site with WordPress. We are using the theeme Boldy by site5.com.
With IE8 the pages display correctly but with IE9 we get following errors:

    1. Some pages display with much larger font

    2. The automatic headings ( the name of the page ) is shown on the page for half a second and then it disappears

    3. H2 Headers are shown on the pages for about half a second and then they disappear.

    Any help is appreciated.

  • As this is a commercial theme, we cannot really help. You need to seek support from the theme vendors.

    Hi Esmi,

I thought the Boldy is a Open Source theme.

Any way, let us put the question this way:

Has anybody experienced following tye of problems with WordPress:

With IE8 the pages display correctly but with IE9 we get following errors:

    1. Some pages display with much larger font

    2. The automatic headings ( the name of the page ) is shown on the page for half a second and then it disappears

    3. H2 Headers are shown on the pages for about half a second and then they disappear.

Yes – in themes with invalid markup and/or poor or invalid CSS.

are the pages rendering ok with other browsers chrome firefox etc … different browsers and versions may render pages differently .. it can be a hard task to code for all browsers, allocating a different css based on browser detected on page load… but seek support from theme developer maybe there is an update for your problem. or google the problem see how you go .. let u know

Yes they are OK with other browsers. And the crazy think is that on my pc the IE9 browser gives correct output whereas on my colleagues IE9 the font size is changed.
The Boldy blog suggests a change of a CSS Some (cufon whatever that is)but I have so little experience with techical things ( I amd an end user just writing texts)that I do not dare to change anything. Need to ask help from somone else.

The issue in this case is not the browser, inherently, but your colleague’s settings on the browser. He has the font size set higher than the default in Internet Explorer or possibly has the Windows system font size set higher.

There is nothing a website can do about that, user settings will always override site settings. You can adjust his browser or system settings by changing them back to the default.

If the site is live a link to it might help. I use both Mac and Windows and can tell you that the fonts and sizes will vary even at the default levels.

    jmag,

Thanks for the advice. This solved the problem. He had a Large font size defined.
If you are interested you can chek out at http://www.adsotech.com/wordpress where we have the development version.

I clicked around your site and it looks good. I am using a FF5 on Mac and no issues with the fonts or anything else.
