# Problem with Google Maps API – Plugin Issue?

 * Whenever I access any page of my site, I get a popup message reading “This page
   was unable to display a Google Maps element. The provided Google API key is invalid
   or this site is not authorized to use it. Error Code: InvalidKeyOrUnauthorizedURLMapError”
 * The website is: [http://healthiercolorado.org](http://healthiercolorado.org)
 * This is particularly strange, because I’m not actually using Google Maps anywhere
   on the site. I’m getting this error, but I’m not actually using an embedded Google
   Map or a Google Maps plugin. I think it may be something to do with a plugin
   error with upgrading WordPress to 4.2.1, but I don’t have a Google Maps Plugin
   installed.
 * Thanks.

 * I think this is your support for that theme. [http://support.touchsize.com/?envato_item_id=9865664](http://support.touchsize.com/?envato_item_id=9865664)
 * Also have you tried:
    -deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem.
   If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic
   plugin(s). -switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

 * The call for Google Maps is coming from here,
    `<script type='text/javascript'
   src='https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/js?key=AIzaSyASm3CwaK9qtcZEWYa-iQwHaGi3gcosAJc&
   sensor=false&libraries=places&ver=1430340137'></script>` which is probably from
   one of your contact/social plugins.

 * Probably this one
    <div class=”textwidget”><!– [http://www.123contactform.com](http://www.123contactform.com)
   script begins here –>

 * Thanks. I found the script that’s the problem, but I don’t know where it’s coming
   from…. I took out all of the 123contactform.com widgets, and that didn’t fix
   the problem or remove that line of script, and when I searched in cpanel for
   that line of script, I couldn’t find it in any of the files either. I will contact
   the help for my theme.

 * This text is in one of your text widgets. Eliminating that will remove the problem.

 * It’s most likely a bad api key, but you can check from the developer console
   to make sure. Once you check the error, check on the developers page for the
   fix: [https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#checking-errors](https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#checking-errors)
 * If it’s a bad key, you can change it out with your own key if you sign up for
   a developer account.
