    Hi there,

I’m having problems with the Google AJAX Search Plugin. I couldn’t get the search bar to reduce in width. Then when I deactivated the plugin, it still made my search bar too wide. I even tried deleting the plugin from my plugins directory, and the same problem happened with the deleted plugin. You can see what the problem is at Is there anything I can do, or has it messed things up for good?

    Thanks for your help,

  • i dont see what the problem is…looks ok to me. Could you describe what you see?

Sorry, I think perhaps it was a problem with the cache of site – the box has changed so it’s the right size now.

I’m not sure if I like it, because it seems to only do google advertisements…

Tomorrow I might try and uninstall it again, and see whether it returns to the normal search box in time.

PS Does anyone know how to get the search box to produce results related to the blog? I couldn’t get my search box to work…

you can configure the search on the options panel, it has its own admin sub-panel.

You can choose what sort of search to do, web, blog or other such as flicker.

Its a google service that Dan made this plugin for, so the results are google searches like normal, so include the sponsored links.

    Thanks for your help epicalex,

I can’t get the search to search my blog – it doesn’t recognise authors names that I have listed in posts, for instance. (This was the same problem with the previous search box. But (after waiting a while for the cache to clear) I have been able to get some more functionality out of it, like a google search, so I think I’ll keep it on the page.
