    Hello,
i frequently get Fatal error: Call to a member function register_handler() on a non-object in /var/www/vhosts/domain/httpdocs/wp-includes/media.php on line 953

Whenever this happens i re-upload wordpress except wp-content and the page returns to normal. At the moment i am running 3.5.1.
I have tried going to 3.5 but i still get an error in media.php

Another interesting fact is that when i re-upload the files when i go to create a new post, the “Add Media” button is not working neither the buttons to change the editor from Visual to Text view.

    Any help would be appreciated…
    Thank you in advance.

An update on this… i somehow managed to solve the issue with the “Add Media” button…I am not sure how i did this but i believe it was a problem with a widget!

Despite the above, i still get Fatal errors on media.php

What i have noticed is that i only need to upload just the files outside of the main WP forlder (wp-includes, wp-admin) to get the site up and running again…

Any tip or anything to try ?

    Thank you!

Try re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.
