Support » Fixing WordPress » Problem with domain forwarding and site / blog url

  • Hi guys,

I’ve been working on getting my wordpress installation right for 3 days straight now.
Installation manuals, support topics, user guides, it’s just not working.

    My problem:

I’ve got the domain “” forwarded to my ip-adres (
My basic wordpress installation (2.05) is running properly on apache2 on my home server in htdocs (root). No wordpress directory.
After the install it is reachable at the ip-adres and fully functional (adding themes, widgets etc).

When I go to options and change the site url and blog url to, the blog stops functioning. I only get the basic frontpage without a applied stylesheet and loging in is not possible. It loads the header, sidebar and footer.
Changing the site url back in the mysql tables doesn’t reverse the problem as well.

I got the installation working in this set up with “frame” domain forwarding, but I don’t want it to run in a frame. So the forwarding is set to “location”.
I tried restarting the Apache and Mysql services, no effect.

I’ve read support topics concerning site-url and forwarding, but no usable information.
I’ve set up the blog at the above url and it is running.

    Please help!
