[Resolved] Problem with Child Theme CSS

    I’ve created a style.css file for the Child Theme and the theme *works* (in that, I can activate it), but the styles have been stripped.

    Site: http://nathanagin.info/busters/

    Here’s the code of the style.css file in the zalive-child folder:

    ‘/*
    Theme Name: zAlive – Child
    Template: zalive
    */

    @import url(‘../zalive/style.css’);
    @import url(‘../zalive/css/bootstrap.min.css’);
    @import url(‘../zalive/css/bootstrap-responsive.min.css’);
    @import url(‘../zalive/css/theme-options.css’);
    @import url(‘../zalive/css/zAlive_wp_pagenavi.css’);

    /* =Theme customization starts here
    ————————————————————– */’

    Thanks!

  • Take out all the imports except the top one, see if that works.

    I had started with that (to no avail), and when I saw this theme used the Bootstrap theme and other CSS files, I included those, as that process worked with another WP theme.

    So, still not working even with just the top line.

    Clear your caching plugin’s cache and deactivate it when you want to see immediate changes.

    I’m not using a caching plugin.

    SOLVED IT.

    The first line had someone gotten curly quotes instead of straight quotes: import lines can *only* use ‘.

    And it only needs the first import line to work.
