[resolved] Problem with certain themes and flash (3 posts)

    A blog that I maintain at work is changing themes due to 2.3 breaking the category search. We're in the process of trying to find a new theme to customize however we are coming across some huge issues with flash. In particular, flash video and audio (using FLV Embed and Audio Player plugins) are not being displayed. This is something that only occurs on the main page, and when doing a category search. If you go directly to the posting, we'll see the video.

    I have found a site with a similar situation. This is NOT the site that I am working on.

    Get the latest Flash Player to see this player.
    [Javascript required to view Flash movie, please turn it on and refresh this page]
    document.getElementById(”player1″).style.display = “”;
    var s1 = new SWFObject(”http://clearycast.cgsh.com/wp-content/plugins/flv-embed/flvplayer.swf”,”player1″,”480″,”383″,”7″);

    If we use the default WP theme, this issue is not present. In our old pre WP 2.0 theme, there are no issues. Only in certain newer themes. Currently I am trying to get "Your Content III WordPress Theme" to work. For comparison, the theme "Charcoal" works perfectly, but contains too much to be used by us.

    Any help on this issue would be appreciated, and I'll provide more info as requested.

    This happens sometimes when the template shows excerpts of the posts rather than the full text of the posts. To change excerpts to full text, look for the_excerpt() in your theme's home.php or category.php template files, and change it to the_content().

    You can read more about the_excerpt() and the_content().
