problem with background colours (sidebar)

    @kmaisch

    I have a problem where if my content area is shorter than the sidebar area (eg: viewing a short post, or viewing the archives where there are not many posts), the background colour for the content area and the background colour for the sidebar area end up being different lenghts. (Hard to explain – please see this screenshot:

    This only seems to be on a Macintosh (Firefox or Internet Explorer). Is there a way I can fix this in the stylesheet?

    Cheers,
    Kim

  • Put the content & sidebar in a container with a white background. It’ll hold both elements inside and appear to make the content area bigger, but also won’t interfere in the reverse case.

    Unless you want a different color menu bg.

    Thanks. Next question – how do I put the content and sidebar in a container?
    By editing the index.php?

    eg:

    table width=”800″ border=”0″ cellspacing=”0″ cellpadding=”0″
    tr
    td ALL CONTENT BETWEEN GET_SIDEBAR AND GET_CONTENT? /td
    /tr
    /table

    ?
