    Hello!

I’m using TCP with Authorize.net, and for several weeks purchases on not making a successful roundtrip from the site, to Authorize, back to the site.

The customer is taken to Authorize, enters their credit card information, then is instantly taken to the error page: “An error occurred while trying to report this transaction to the merchant” page. The transaction is successful, but the customer never gets taken back to the site. Authorize says the DLL tries for 10 seconds, but it’s not waiting at all, it goes instantly to the error page.

Is anyone else using Authorize and having trouble? Knowing how to fix this problem would save my relationship with this client, who is considering moving to a different e-commerce platform. TCP has been working great so far and I’m not convinced it’s a problem with TCP, but rather with Authorize (although I’m not 100% which is why I’m posting here). Thanks for your help!

  • i too am having trouble with authorize.net and tcp. but the issue seems to be neither software. the issue seems to be with the merchant or transaction id. is authorizenet the payment processor or gateway? i can never remember. whichever one it isn’t, that’s where the issue lies. i am trying to make test payments/transactions from the new in-dev site, but because the current/old site is using the same merchant id, it throws an error.
