    The Twitter plugin for WordPress configured the follow button, placed the appropriate markup on the page, and loaded Twitter’s widgets JavaScript to interpret the results.

    Based on your description you may have an issue with a behavior of Twitter’s widgets JavaScript and the Adblock Plus extension. Twitter’s general follow button forum is the best place for those issues.
