Support » Installing WordPress » problem when try to run install.php

  • Hello,
I get evrything ready and running, but when I try to run install.php
    first error i got was:
“Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL which is required for WordPress.”

    then I uncomment extension=php_mysql.dll line
    and add line extension_dir = “./ext” in php.ini

    and now I get

    CGI Timeout
The specified CGI application exceeded the allowed time for processing. The server has deleted the process.

even when I try to run simple test.php page

Please let me know if you have any idea what I missed here.
    I run php5, mysql4.1 and IIS
I dont understand how to see whats going on and why its timeout.

the dlls is in php/ext folder, I also add them to system32 folder, its seems its try to connect, but have problem

    Thank you very much,

  • Did you follow the install instructions specifically when it came to getting the right database name and password information? My database was called wp_database but I put in wp-database and fought with this for HOURS on my very first install. A little thing can totally screw things up. That might be it.
