• Hi Claudio,

Thank you for your plugin! So far it worked really well. However, after switching my theme and regenerating thumbnails I ran into problems.

Unfortunately the media library becomes a bit of a mess when regenerating thumbnails. When thumbnails are regenerated the original image filename is used for the new thumbnail names. The previously renamed thumbnails will rename in the directory. When trying to rename the images to the previous name again – Phoenix Media Rename will fail because orphaned thumbnails with the same name already exist.

I guess the best solution would be to also rename the original filename. Because then regenerated thumbnail filenames should have the correct filename.

Also it could be helpful to have the option to mass rename the images from the image title (minus the ‘scaled’-suffix).

Note: I tried to regenerate the thumbnails using WP-CLI command ‘wp media regenerate’ and also with plugin https://de.wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/ – with the same outcome.

    Hi @fivec,
I’ll check this issue as soon as possible: I never tried to regenerate thumbnails using WP-CLI, but this is a bad issue, I hope to fix it soon.

    Thank you for reporting!

    Hi @fivec,
I finally managed to resolve the issue: the release 3.7.3 contains the correct code to let wp-cli correctly regenerate thumbnails.

I’m sorry for the long time needed to fix this 🙁
