problem when i changed directories

  • i was testing wordpress with the blog in a directory on my server ‘wordpress.’

i recently transfered everything from ‘wordpress’ to my root directory, but now i cannot login to my account.

can someone please help. i am sure that i screwed something up by moving all the wordpress files to a different directory, but not sure how to rectify.

    thanks

I’m having problems moving wordpress to its own directory also. I want to keep wordress in its own directory where I installed it, but move the main page to the root directory.

I followed the instructions in the Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory documentation.

Everything looked OK, but I couldn’t access any of my pages (posts were OK).

I found another post about editing the .htaccess in the original directory with the following line:
    redirect 301 /ORIG-DIR/ http://www.MY-DOMAIN-NAME.com/

This seemed to have fixed everything. So I logged off.

However, 2 hours later, I have different problems!
    – I can’t login
    – The theme and all the formatting has disappeared

What do I do to fix this? Please help!

I reinstalled wordpress and started over. Everything is working now. Please disregard my previous post. Thanks.
